Fall is a great time to get back into a routine, kids are back in school, the office is in full swing again. So why not your fitness routine? Always good to refresh and restart! Not to mention there are only 90 some days left in 2019. We pulled together 6 ideas for a fitness refresh to end the year strong!
1. Join a Fitness Challenge: and recruit a friend to join you, a friend will help hold you accountable and you’ll be less likely to skip if you know she’s counting on you. Two challenges that we love are Tone It Up (a 21 day challenge with an amazing community) or MA30Day with Massy Arias. Check in at your local gym as well, they are often running 30 day challenges and check-in’s.
2. Focus on Food: Have you always wanted to see what the Paleo diet or Whole30 was all about? Now is the best time to do a little research and start! Research shows when you commit to healthy eating an overall healthy lifestyle will follow. It’s a package deal, the better you feel through food the more active you want to be throughout the day! For some recipe inspiration check out our favorite Paleo Running Momma or here for Whole30 dinner inspirations.
3.Sign up for a race: fall is the best running weather across the county. Temperatures are cooling down and it’s so great to feel that crisp fall air before things get too cold. Sorry I know Winter is coming eventually. To find a race in your city check out this helpful guide. We are huge fans of the Rock’n’Roll running series which usually offers a 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon in about 25 different cities.4. Find a personal trainer in you area and start with one session per week, yes it’s super costly we won’t deny that fact. But it’s the most effective way to get yourself into a new fitness routine. The trainer will customize a workout for you and your goals. Committing the time, money and effort will be worth it!
5. Find Free Fitness: If a personal trainer is over your budget sign up for a month unlimited at a boutique gym or studio. Most places offer a deal for a week or up to 30 days for first time clients. And since you’ll want to maximize your month you’ll push yourself to get there as much as possible. Check out Core Power Yoga for a free week trial. Another great option popping up in just about every city is Orange Theory Fitness, they’ll give you a free class your first time.
6. Write down your fitness goals for the end of 2019. You are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. Writing down your goals not only forces you to get clear on what exactly you want to accomplish but if motivates you to complete the tasks necessary for your success.
With less than 90 days in this decade how do you want to finish out 2019? Use this guide to help you finish strong and be YOUR best.
